Remi Blaze releases Blazeit - Saturation clipper and transient shaper
Remi Blaze has released Blazeit, a saturation clipper and transient shaper designed for macOS that tackles a common mixing problem: clipping reduces peaks to boost loudness, but it can flatten drum attacks in the process.
Blazeit solves this with dual envelope followers that detect and restore transients after clipping. The result is increased loudness without losing the punch that makes drums and bass sit right in a mix.
The plugin includes four clipping curves (Soft, Medium, Hard, Cubic) with up to 8× oversampling to eliminate aliasing. Its transient shaper offers bipolar controls for both attack and sustain, ranging from negative 100 to positive 100 percent. You can drive just the bass band independently for tighter low-end control, and choose from three saturation types (Tape, Tube, Grit) before clipping engages.
Workflow features include Auto-Gain for honest A/B comparisons, a 500 ms IGNITE sweep, an OVERHEAT push button, waveform display, and randomize function. The plugin supports AU, VST3, and Standalone formats in Universal Binary for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Why it matters: Most producers reach for clipping to maximize loudness, but Blazeit lets you do it without sacrificing the transient definition that separates professional mixes from muddy ones.
Producer’s note
Start with 2× oversampling while dialing in the sound, then switch to 8× for export. Use transient restoration sparingly. Recover enough attack to preserve punch, but not so much that the clipped peak and lost headroom return. Judge it at matched volume, especially on kick and bass.
