AOFN Audio Releases Grizzly - Free Stereo Modulation Effect based on the Gristleizer Pedal (VST3 & AU)

AOFN Audio has released Grizzly, a free stereo modulation effect inspired by the Gristleizer guitar pedal circuit. The plugin is available now for macOS and Windows.

Grizzly operates in two core modes. VCA mode handles amplitude modulation, ranging from slow tremolo effects to audio-rate ring modulation-adjacent tones above 20 Hz. VCF mode sweeps a lowpass filter, delivering autowah, filter pulses, and cutoff sweeps. Both modes are driven by an internal LFO with selectable waveforms: triangle, square, saw up, and saw down.

Control options are comprehensive. The LFO speed ranges from 0.01 Hz to 30 Hz in free-running mode, or syncs to host tempo from 1/1 to 1/32 note divisions. Shape controls adjust triangle slope asymmetry or square duty cycle. Additional parameters include offset, bias, drive (−12 to +24 dB), stereo spread for phase offset widening between channels, and output level trim.

macOS users need version 12 or later (supporting both Apple Silicon and Intel) with AU and VST3 support. Windows 10/11 x64 users get VST3. The plugin is entirely free.
